HOT SUNDAY

Just a brief word to say that you missed a lovely hot Sunday last weekend. Only problem was the club was stuffed full (and believe me that's an appropriate word) of sailors as the Ulsters were on.

Pat led the charge but Sarah (Lord junior), Ming, Paula, Guy (Mr Bling), James, Lee, the other James, Russell, Ross and Tim (Tescos have withdrawn his club card), Fanta Pants and Tourettes were all out. The water was warm, the air heavy - and for once not just with swear words. It was positively tropical. The early venturers including Mr T largely sank without trace on around 6m while the wise and smug (I'll leave you to guess which category I fit into but it's not wise) raced about on 7-7.5m and were well pleased.

Eventually it got hotter and then it got windier. By 4pm (we started at 11) we were knackered and happy with some really good stuff going down and not just crashing down. Just as we thought it was time to crawl in, the wind really picked up. James and Lee were on around 5m, but Fanta, Ming and I were on 7m+ and by this time Sarah was standing on the end of the pier with a big zoom and set to multiple shots. So we hauled out tired limbs and performed manfully for the camera. Somehow she took over 300 shots, including some big water. I'll try and get the results onto www.mylyst.com when I get a minute. But boy were we tired when we came in.

I saw a really good gybe by a larger than life figure in front of me and thought that's a good gybe and yet it looks like Guy. And it was - nice one Mr B! Ming was out later and went for speed. Indeed as we sat in the bar drinking a well earned Guinness he was still charging about, but never really threatened 30 knots plus, it was too rough - a bit like Ming really.

Lovely day, hot, warm water and the torrential rain only appeared as we drove home. Sometimes windsurfing can seriously make you smile.....
